Create & Manage Verticals

Your repair shop can offer repair for multiple categories of devices. This makes it compulsory for your shop on POS to have a well-defined list of all the services you provide. RepairDesk understands it and empowers you to add as many verticals of the services as offered by you.

Fun Facts:

You can link devices and its models with various verticals for a better and faster flow of your work. Moreover, you can define some custom fields against every vertical defined and can save the condition of device while accepting it as well. These verticals can be shown or hidden from the POS and widgets.

Add A Vertical

Adding a vertical has been made as easy by RepairDesk as you writing it down on a paper. It would never take you more than 5 minutes to have a new vertical set up and running for you. Follow the path below to reach to the settings of verticals:

Path: \Settings > Module Configuration > Vertical Management

You can click on the tab of Vertical Management to expose its settings for you. There are no verticals present for you in the beginning so, you have to make verticals of your choice. Here are the steps for you to do so:

  1. Click either on the New Vertical button at the top right corner or the +Add New Vertical button at the bottom.
  2. A screen will slide in from the right corner asking you to enter a name in the name field. You can upload an image if desired.
  3. Check the checkboxes for the Display on POS and Display on Widget to show it on POS and widget respectively.
  4. Turn on the Link Models on Next Step toggle at the end of the screen to link some models with the vertical or simply click on the Save button to save it.
  5. Selecting to link models will turn the Save button into Save and Continue button. Clicking on it will slide in a new screen from the right corner.
  6. You can select the brands from the given list, search for a brand from the search bar or check the checkbox given for the Select All at the end of the screen.
  7. Click on the Select Model button at the end to proceed to a new screen. Here you can either check the checkboxes against the models you want to select, search a model from the search bar or click on the +Add new Model at the bottom.
  8. Click on the Save button at the end of the screen when done.

Edit an Existing Vertical

If you decide to edit an existing vertical, follow the same path given in the previous section and follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Edit (Pen) icon against the vertical you want to edit.
  2. A window will slide from the right side. Change the name or edit the checkboxes given for POS and widget view if desired.
  3. If you want to change the models connected or connect new models, click on the Link Models on Next Step and the Update and Continue button.
  4. Select the brands and proceed to the next screen to select the models. Click on the Save button to update the vertical.
  5. You can also manage models associated with a vertical by clicking on the Manage Models button given next to the vertical.

Accept Deposit for a Vertical

RepairDesk enables you to accept an deposit against the verticals you have created. To do so, you have to follow the path given in the previous sections. Once you open that path, you can view all the verticals created along with their details. Follow the steps below to turn on the deposit functionality against a vertical:

  1. Choose the vertical you want to take an advance payment against and click on the three dots button next to it.
  2. From the dropdown list, click on the Manage Deposit. You will see a new window sliding from right.
  3. In the text box made for entering payment, you can click on the Dollar sign. Now, whatever amount you enter in the text box will be charged in terms of dollars. If you click on the Dollar sign and turn it into a Percentage sign, amount entered will be charged as the percentage for deposit.
  4. If you want to charge tax against the advance payment amount, click on the Yes button under the question for tax.
  5. Now, select a tax class from the dropdown option.
  6. Proceed with clicking on the Save button placed at the bottom right to save your deposit settings.
